Yes, I (Mark Longenecker) was very busy this labor day weekend. I painted a board for for the National Kidney Foundation Surf Contest. I painted it on the beach at the contest and then did the finishing touches at the auction. The board sold for $1000 and all the money went to the charity!

Was a great past weekend! I planned on spending it in Orlando at the surf expo, but I was only there for 2 hours. Hurricane Bill brought 8-12 foot waves, and I had to stay beachside most of the time. Mark Longenecker -Tattoo Artist

Currently someone can not give blood until a full year after they have been tattooed. This is an outdated law that needs to be changed. Today, members of the Florida Professional Tattoo Artist Guild, the Florida   Department of Health, and the Florida Blood Services all met to come up with a resolution. After the meeting, J.B. Gaskins (VP of the F.B.S.) took Wes Diffie (fellow F.P.T.A.G. member) and I on a tour of the facility, we were amazed to see the extensive process that all the blood goes through before it is shipped off to the hospitals to be used for transfusions. With all the testing they do, it makes no sense that they can not use the blood of someone who has received a tattoo with in a year. I was elected the new President of the Florida Professional Tattoo Artist Guild a couple months ago. Since then I have been working hard with the guild to help the Florida Tattoo Industry.

Mark Longnecker of Endless Summer Tattoo delivers his time and effort to support the Sean and Skippy Slater San Clemente surf contest. Geared towards promoting skin cancer awareness. Mark painted a surfboard of the San Clemente pier and it was auctioned for $3000 all to benefit World Skin Cancer Foundation.
